At the end of the year Scouts have the opportunity to be classed as Super Troopers, receiving their Super Trooper badge and Pennant. A number of challenges are year long and others are designed to get Troops within Districts working together. ADC (Scouts) will authorise the award of Super Trooper status at the end of the year (September 2010) on receipt of proof that activities have been completed.
Every three months a series of challenges are issued and the Scout Troop has to complete three from the choices given.
Over and above that there are year long challenges to be completed. From this years choices we have chosen to keep a year long journal which will be compiled into a DVD presentation and secondly to raise money for a nominated local charity.
As our charity of the year we have chosen Pathfinder Dogs who have previously visited us to tell us about the work they do raising and training German Shepherd dogs as guiding dogs for the blind. Over the coming year the Troop will take part in various fundraising events for our nominated charity.
